Sailing Watauga Lake

Watauga Lake is the place to be year round and especially in the hot days of Summer.  With air temps in 90’s and water temps in the 70’s in July and August, the lake is the perfect place to cool off on hot summer days.  Watauga Lake is a great sailing lake with a vibrant sailing community that hosts regattas year round.  The Watauga Lake Sailing Club is over 40 years old and boasts nearly a hundred members.  Fishing, swimming, hiking and camping are just a few of the other activities around the lake.  With the Appalachian Trail and the Cherokee National Forest bordering much of the lake, development is sparse and shorelines are prestine and wooded.
